Beatnik Ostriches
"Beatnik Ostriches"
The Beatnik Ostriches live along a river called, Misery. They believe in spoken word poetry and worship a local eccentric named Tom Waits. These two character give Dollface good advice. When she told them that she isn’t good at anything, they replied, “The master has failed more than the apprentice has ever tried.” The Beatnik Ostriches are very creative with words. They love art and are fascinated by the subcultures of Strangeland. Hunter S Thompson, George Carlin, and Tom Waits would have a good time with these guys.
The ostriches faces have been modeled from myself and my best friend who passed away last year. He was a well known artist who worked for DC and Marvel along with a comic book with George Romero. I promised him I would immortalize us together in my art and he was able to see this painting 2 months before he passed away. I kept my promise.
